Allen Jameson had it all—the perfect house, the perfect partner, the perfect life—until his partner, Gary, died suddenly, leaving him alone in the real world, where life isn't so pretty and people make mistakes. Now Allen is the owner of Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Cupcake Shop, a cute boutique downtown, where he invents delicious flavors like strawberry and French meringue. Between working long hours and making special orders, Allen barely has time to think.

Then a hunky contractor walks into his shop looking for a treat. Allen and Byron Bannigan are total opposites, but they're perfect together—salty and sweet like Allen’s signature peanut butter and chocolate ganache cupcakes. But as Allen struggles to juggle his business and his boyfriend, he learns he can only handle so much. He may have to choose between the cupcakes in his store and the cupcake in his bed.

The difference between a really good story and a bad story is if you plan to read it again or if you cannot even finish it and even if you do finish you want to delete it from your Kindle. A sweet story is not everyones cup of tea. They find it too sappy but esp. with a favored author a nice sweet read is like a wonderful cup of tea/hot chocolate, in front of a fireplace on a cold winter day, with a plate of cookies still warm from the oven. You get lost in the romantic tale's touching moments, tugs on your heartstrings, sometimes even shed a few tears, but always you come away with a satisfied smile and sigh that too bad it over.

When Sean Michael writes a sweet tale you get to enjoy it when you reread it a couple years later and realize syrup isn't just for pancakes / waffles. If you enjoy overcoming grief, small business owners, big men/small men, protectors, best friends, romantic dinners, lonely men, a second chance at love, wanting to have a true home, curl up on a comfy couch and read this

Very nice tale of finding love again and finding the confidence to be yourself. Nice character development and chemistry between Bit and Allen. Recommended.
What a nice book. Just finished reading it the second time. Just really loved the book and the love between these two characters.
Byron and Allen are just too cute together. And my god, can they roll in the sheets. Definitely great for those who hate those books with tons and tons of negative tension in them. It was just too cute
Sean Michael's Cupcakes is the sexist M/M story I have read so far. You can be fooled by the cute title/cover, these boys get it on early and often. It is a hot and steamy romance. Allen is adorable (I want to hug him myself) and the moment they meet is cute, but it isn't long before they are naked. The relationship develops naturally but quickly (they can't stay away from each other for long). They work together to solve the issues that crop up, and this strengthens the relationship. They are a sweet and sexy couple.
Ok, now this was a good book, but I think I have issue with some of the verbage that is used. I have never really spent time with people who refer to each other as "lovely" or "sweety" or the like. So it was a bit disturbing to have everyone referring to each other in such a manner. It was very distracting. Outside that, the story was pretty good. I think some of what was happening seemed a bit unrealistic. The very young boy with the very much older wealthy man who dies and leaves him with a big house and all this money. The low self esteem for the main character was also a bit over played in my eyes. There were so many opportunities to make this book better, but it was just good.
This story is all kinds of sweet. There's no great tension in the relationship between the main characters and all the trouble comes from outside. You can tell Allen was with a very refined, repressed, upper-class man even before you find about their relation the way he thinks and believes he should act make it clear he was not an equal in his previous relationship and had no knowledge that a relationship can be different from the one he was in before. Byron comes along and shows him what he's been missing and Allen jumps right into catching up. There's a lot of sex and mushiness, which might or might not be your thing, but the writing is clean, the sex is hot and the two guys are likeable. I gave it 4 stars because it's not one you'll read over and over and over, but you'll re-read it when the right mood hits you. It's just a cute, feel good, hot story.
wow. this week was awesome. it had so many layers. the relationship between these two men started of charming and fun. then the author started developing the characters and their relationship turned more intense. after many ups and downs, love blossomed and the men got their HEA. What I really liked was the realistic feel.to the relationship. it wasn't instant love, it wasn't perfect. these men dated, had disagreements, talked about their days. it felt like something a real couple would have gone through in the quest to be true partners not just sex buddies.

also the author did a job tying his writing elements to the title. yes the story was about a baker running a cupcake store, but the language throughout the book also complimented the title. using lots of bakery and cupcake themed descriptions and pet names was perfect! I will gladly tell everyone to read this story!
